As a young girl studying in Yadavindra Public School in Mohali, Punjab, Noor was always interested in music. In fact, she used to practice singing along with her little brother Ishaan. She usually had the full support of her family in this pursuit of hers. There is no record of Noor taking formal music training. However, the quality of her singing definitely indicates that she may have taken formal training in her formative years. As a young singer, she was highly inspired by Surinder Kaur, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Satinder Sartaaj, and Gurdas Maan. Apart from her music career, she was also an avid badminton player during her school years.
