Gear up John Cena fans, the Peacemaker HBO series will soon be out on HBO Max stream service! The Suicide Squad Spinoff is will premiere in early 2022 on HBO Max and create a whole new fanbase for itself.
The Peacemaker series will have 1 season with 8 episodes and the duration of each episode is approximately an hour. Throughout the series, this DC superhero is so intent on attaining world peace that he is ironically ready to use the force of arms to conquer it. The genre of this series is action, adventure, and comedy and is the talk of the town these days.
1. Peacemaker HBO Series Final Release Date
The Peacemaker HBO series will release on 13th January this year and fans are buzzing with excitement for the first three episodes. Unfortunately, the fourth episode is delayed to January 20th, while the 5th episode will release seven days later. The rest of the series will release within the first two weeks of February. This series is a production of Troll Court Entertainment in conjunction with the Warner Bros. and The Safron Company.
2. The script for the series was written “mostly for fun”
Yes that’s right! James Gunn the writer and producer of Peacemaker started writing the story as a spinoff. He did this while completing his work on The Suicide Squad during one of the COVID-19 lockdowns. James Gunn considered it nothing serious initially but little did he know that it would soon become a reality. DC Films asked him if he would like to make a spinoff about any particular “The Suicide Squad” character. Moreover, the Peacemaker is portrayed by John Cena.
3. “The Peacemaker” HBO Series title is not final
James Gunn uniquely uses extremely obscure characters in his film indicating his creative freedom preventing fans from going crazy for any deviations from the source material.
4. The first series taking place in the DCEU
Similar to The Suicide Squad, the Peacemaker will release as a Detective Comics Extended Universe series. It is the first series on the HBO Max DC lineup to release that way. It might not closely follow the source material. This is it has been reported to be an origin story for the main character.
5. James Gunn may not be the director after all!
You heard that right! James Gunn wrote all the episodes of the series. Sadly, he will only be directing the pilot and the first 5 episodes. The other episodes will be directed by Jody Hill, Brad Anderson, and Rosemary Rodriguez. It is not certain which episodes these filmmakers will be directing. Regardless of who directs it, this series reportedly has a wildly crazy plot written by Gunn.
6. Peacemaker HBO series star John Cena ate 36 empanadas
