Career

Hardik Singh played his first-ever hockey tournament in Chandigarh. In his early days, P.S Rai was Hardik’s first coach. He won a bronze medal in domestic tournaments like the 4th Hockey India Sub Junior National Championship 2014.

Hardik became the youngest Punjab Hockey Star and was invited to represent the nation in many international tournaments. He won gold and the Euro Asia Cup 2016 in the Under-18 Asia Cup 2016. In 2016, he won a gold medal at the Four-Nation International Tournament.

He is undoubtedly a talented defender and will be a great addition to the already excellent Indian team. His performances in the Champions trophy have been good and helped India reach the finals and win the tournament.

Hardik Singh’s Awards and Achievements

  • Hardik made his international debut as a senior member of the Indian team in the Hero Asian Champions Trophy 2018, held in Muscat in October.
  • He was the vice-captain for the Indian junior hockey team and made his senior international debut at the 2018 Asian Men’s Hockey Champions Trophy.
  • Hardik was a regular player in the team’s midfield. He was also part of India’s Gold-medal winning feat at the 2019 FIH men’s series Finals in Bhubaneswar and the 2019 Tokyo Olympic Qualifiers.
  • Manpreet Singh, his Men in Blue and his Men in Blue, made history when they beat Germany 5-4 to win India’s first Olympic hockey gold after 41 years.

Family Background

Hardik was playing hockey from a very early age, and in fact, his family has a history in sports. His father, Varinderpreet Singh, was an international hockey player. His aunt Rajbir Kaur played internationally for India, while Gurmail Singh, her husband, participated in the 1980 Summer Olympics, where India won the gold medal.
